How to Start Your Day With a Healthy Breakfast

You may be surprised to know that you can start your day with a healthy breakfast. Many people skip breakfast and go right for the donuts, muffins and pastries at the local coffee shop. They think they will just get a little bit of energy to get them through the morning. However, skipping breakfast will make you feel sluggish throughout the day. Instead, eat something nutritious to get your body started. The best way to do this is by eating a small protein bar or an apple with peanut butter. You should also eat a protein shake or a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.

In addition to a nutritious breakfast, you need to get some exercise. This can be as simple as walking around the block. If you live in an apartment, you can take the stairs instead of the elevator. Try to walk to work, park farther away from your office building, or walk around the mall during lunch hour. If you have a treadmill in your home, you can walk on it. It is important to stay active all day long because sitting down all day will make you gain weight.

If you have children, try to spend time with them doing fun activities. Take them to the park, play catch, or go to the zoo. If you can’t do these things, then you can watch movies together, read books, or listen to music. These activities will keep you busy so you won’t have time to sit around feeling bored.

Another way to get more exercise is to take up a hobby. If you like gardening, you can plant a garden. If you like painting, you can paint a picture. You can also join a club, such as a book club or a chess club. The point is to find something that interests you so you won’t be bored while you’re exercising.

It is also important to eat healthy snacks. You can buy a bag of pretzels, crackers, or cookies at the grocery store. If you are at a party, you can bring along some healthy snacks. Fruit and vegetable juices are great choices. You can even make fruit smoothies at home. If you want to eat chips or candy, make sure you eat only one serving.

Finally, make sure you drink enough water. When you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated. You should drink at least eight glasses of water every day. This will help you lose weight.
